The United Kingdom has opened the second and final ballot for the 2026 India Young Professionals Scheme (YPS). The scheme offers eligible Indian citizens a final opportunity this year to secure one of the remaining visas under the annual quota of 3,000. The ballot, which opened at 1:30 pm IST on July 21, will close at 1:30 pm IST on July 23.
Eligible candidates can enter the ballot free of charge and applicants can register at any time during the 48-hour window through the official UK government portal.
The India Young Professionals Scheme enables successful applicants to live, work and study in the UK for up to two years without requiring a prior job offer. Participants can work in most sectors, change employers and pursue education during their stay, subject to visa conditions.
To qualify for the scheme, applicants must be must be Indian citizens aged between 18 and 30, meet the prescribed educational requirements, demonstrate sufficient financial resources and be selected through the ballot before applying for the visa. Most of the 3,000 places were allocated during the February 2026 ballot, with the remaining slots now available through this final round.
The UK government has clarified that ballot results are final, though unsuccessful candidates may apply again in future years if they remain eligible.
