Alberta Selects 722 Workers for Provincial Nomination

Alberta has invited 722 workers with job offers in the province to apply for permanent residence through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). The invitations were issued across three draws held between September 1 and 9, 2026.

The largest selection came through the Alberta Opportunity Stream, which issued 575 invitations to candidates with a minimum score of 56. Alberta also invited 96 technology workers through its Accelerated Tech Pathway, with a minimum score of 60. A further 51 healthcare professionals were selected through the Dedicated Health Care Pathway – Express Entry, also requiring a score of 60.

The latest selections reflect Alberta’s focus on addressing labour shortages in priority sectors, particularly healthcare and technology. Candidates who receive a provincial nomination can then apply to the federal government for Canadian permanent residence.
