Canada Invites 2,500 Canadian Experience Class Candidates to Apply for Permanent Residence

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 2,500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates in its latest Express Entry draw. The draw was held on October 15, 2026, and invited candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 519. This is Canada’s 61st Express Entry draw of 2026.

Compared with the previous CEC draw on September 29, IRCC invited 500 more candidates and the cut-off score rose by one point. CEC cut-off scores have mostly stayed between 516 and 523 since May. So far in 2026, Canada has issued 57,250 invitations to CEC candidates. This year’s draws continue to favour candidates with strong ties to Canada, such as those with Canadian work experience and provincial nominees.

Invited candidates have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence. Applicants already in Canada may be eligible for a Bridging Open Work Permit, which allows them to keep working while their application is processed. Their eligible family members may also qualify for open work permits. The draw could create more opportunities for skilled workers already living and working in Canada to move toward permanent residence.
