With Canada’s continued focus on growing the Francophone communities outside Quebec, the French language proficiency draw remains one of the important category-based selection streams. The French language proficiency category has issued 30,500 ITAs in 2026, which is the second highest number of invitations after the Canadian Experience Class, which has issued 37,250 ITAs.By strengthening the language skills and maintaining an updated Express Entry profile, prospective immigrants can improve the chance of receiving an invitation under the category.

To meet the immigration targets and to meet the economic goals of the country, Canada continues to give priority to candidates with work experience in Canada, provincial nominations, and French-language skills.
