Canada has conducted its first permanent residence selection under the revamped Transport category of Express Entry, issuing 300 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) on August 7, 2026. Candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 470 and must have created their Express Entry profile before October 11, 2025 2:55 p.m., Universal Coordinated Time (UTC).
The draw is the first selection under the renewed Transport category after Canada reintroduced it in February 2026 with a new list of eligible occupations. The category is designed to address labour shortages in key transportation-related fields. Eligible occupations include air pilots, aircraft mechanics and inspectors, and automotive service technicians and truck and bus mechanics. Candidates with relevant work experience may benefit from targeted category-based selection providing another pathway toward Canadian permanent residence.
