Canada’s immigration department has released its latest temporary residence processing-time update, with several application categories seeing shorter waits as of September 2, 2026. Compared with the August 26 figures, work permit processing times decreased for applicants in Pakistan and those applying from within Canada, while wait times increased for applicants in India and the Philippines.
Study permit applicants in India saw processing times improve by two weeks, dropping to five weeks. However, applications submitted from within Canada increased to eight weeks. Visitor visa processing times changed only slightly across the countries.
Super visa processing times also declined in most countries, with Pakistan seeing the largest reduction of 23 days. IRCC is expected to release its next temporary residence processing-time update around September 9.
