743 foreign workers in Alberta have received invitations for permanent residence after the province selected candidates through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).
The invitations were issued on August 14 under the Alberta Opportunity Stream, with candidates needing a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 58 to receive an invitation. Alberta also conducted a separate healthcare-focused selection on August 19, inviting another 24 candidates.
With these latest rounds, Alberta has conducted 71 provincial immigration draws in 2026 and issued nearly 12,000 invitations so far this year. The province has been allocated 6,603 nomination spaces for 2026. As of August 25, Alberta had already used 4,560 of those spaces, leaving 2,043 nominations available for the remainder of the year.
