Canada Targets Skilled Trades Workers in Latest Express Entry Draw

Canada has continued its focus on skilled trades by inviting 3,500 candidates to apply for permanent residence through Express Entry. The latest category-based draw took place on October 1, with candidates requiring a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 476.

The selection was aimed specifically at applicants who qualified under the Trades category and met the program’s work-experience requirements. A tie-breaking rule was also applied to candidates at the minimum CRS score, with profiles submitted by May 28, 2026, considered for selection.

This marks the second Express Entry draw dedicated to trades occupations this year. The two rounds have now resulted in 6,500 invitations for skilled trades candidates. Across all Express Entry categories, Canada has issued 135,215 invitations through 59 draws in 2026.
