Canada Issues 792 Invitations to Provincial Nominees: Implications for Applicants

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted its 63rd Express Entry draw of 2026 on October 26, issuing 792 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The round, the largest of its kind since June, required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 761 and was restricted to profiles submitted before April 3, 2026.

Analysis for Applicants

Although the cutoff appears demanding, it reflects the 600 additional points conferred by a provincial nomination; virtually every nominee in the pool was therefore invited. For prospective immigrants, the determining factor is not the draw itself but the ability to secure a nomination, which provinces increasingly extend to candidates identified within the Express Entry pool. The steady growth of PNP rounds, from 264 invitations in March to 792 in October, signals sustained provincial demand.

The broader 2026 data reinforce this conclusion. More than 144,000 invitations have been issued across 63 draws, the majority through Canadian Experience Class and French-language rounds, and every invitation has been extended to a candidate with an active Express Entry profile. Prospective applicants are accordingly well advised to establish a complete and competitive profile at the earliest opportunity.
