Quebec has conducted its eighth Skilled Worker Selection Program (PSTQ) invitation round of 2026, selecting 790 candidates for permanent selection. The latest exercise took place on August 27, with profiles drawn from the province’s candidate pool on August 24.
All four PSTQ streams participated in the selection. Stream 2, aimed at workers in intermediate and manual occupations, received the largest allocation with 324 invitations. Stream 1 for highly qualified and specialized workers accounted for 87 invitations, while 109 candidates in regulated professions were selected under Stream 3. A further 21 invitations went to candidates with exceptional talent under Stream 4.
Those invited can submit a complete application for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ). If approved, the CSQ allows them to apply federally for permanent residence with the intention of settling in Quebec.
