Study in the UK: British Council Fully Funded STEM Scholarships for Women 2026-2027

The applications for the Women in STEM scholarship program for the academic year 2026-2027 have been opened by the British Council. There are 25 fully funded scholarships under the program that can be applied for by women from South Asia, including India, to study science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at leading universities in the United Kingdom. The Women in STEM scholarship program under the Going Global Partnerships initiative focuses on talented women who want to build their careers in the STEM fields. The scholarship bridges the gender gap in STEM fields and broadens access to advanced training and research opportunities for women.

The 25 British Council fully funded STEM scholarships, offered for women from South Asia, including India, for the 2026-2027 academic year, are in partnership with five popular UK universities. They include the University of Edinburgh, the University of Glasgow, the University of Manchester, Queen Mary University of London, and Brunel University London.

The Women in STEM scholarship program funds one-year-long master's programs at the leading universities and research institutions in the UK. Each scholarship is worth a minimum of £40,000 (around 50 lakhs). The fund will cover expenses such as the full tuition fees, living stipends, travel and visa costs, health insurance, and English language assistance if required. The scholarships, along with financial support, also support career development and global collaboration, equipping the women with future-ready skills to become leaders and excellent researchers.
