Newfoundland and Labrador invited 122 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The August 18, 2026 draw issued all invitations through the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP), with none issued through the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). This was the province’s first draw since introducing its Expression of Interest (EOI) system in February 2025 in which invitations were issued exclusively through the NLPNP. So far in 2026, Newfoundland and Labrador has issued 1,849 NLPNP invitations and 348 AIP invitations, for a combined total of 2,197.
Applicants seeking nomination through the NLPNP must first submit an EOI through the province’s Immigration Accelerator Portal. Under the EOI model, applicants pursuing NLPNP/AIP must have a job or job offer identified in the EOI. However, the exact requirements vary by program/category.
Those invited have 60 days to submit a complete nomination application. Successful nominees can then apply for Canadian permanent residence.
