Canada has invited 5,000 French-speaking candidates to apply for permanent residence (PR) through the French-language proficiency draw. To qualify for the Express Entry draw, which was held on August 6, 2026, candidates were required to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 391. Candidates also needed to have created their Express Entry profile before March 18, 2026, at 11:32 p.m. UTC. The latest draw marks a significant opportunity for French-speaking skilled workers, as the CRS cutoff fell from 399 in the previous French-language draw on July 22. Canada continues to use category-based Express Entry selections to support French-language immigration. Candidates who received an invitation to apply can now proceed with their PR application, subject to IRCC requirements.
