700 Indian Students To Get Deported From Canada For Forging Visa Documents

Around 700 Indian students were issued deportation notices by the Canadian Border Security Agency (CBSA) for submitting forged visa documents. After passing their +2, these students applied for Canadian study visas through an education and migration services agency in Jalandhar.

The agency collected nearly Rs 16 Lakhs to 20 Lakhs from every student. This amount was paid to a reputed institute called Humber college. Students had to make extra money for their air tickets and security deposits. After reaching Toronto, and while heading to Humber college, they received a phone call from the study immigration agency. The agency informed them that the admissions were closed, and all the students had to wait six months until the start of the following college semester. The students were given the option to join another college to save time.

The agency returned the college fee to them and gained their trust. Unsuspectingly and as instructed by the officials of the study migration agency, the students contacted some other colleges and got their admissions for 2-year diploma courses that were available.

The classes started, and upon course completion, students received their Canadian work permits and started to work. They had to submit all the required documents to Canadian immigration authorities to apply for their Canada Permanent Resident Status. That’s where all the real trouble started because CBSA discovered that the admission offer letters were forged and issued deportation notices to all the students. However, they were granted an opportunity for a hearing.

The agency head was very cunning and did not sign in any student’s visa application files. This was done purposefully to make it look like every student was a self-applicant and no study abroad agencies were involved. CBSA could not do much about the situation as there was no evidence proving that the study immigration agency manipulated the entire visa application process.

Now the only remedy left for the students is to challenge their deportation notices in court, but that can take 3 to 4 years, and seeking the services of lawyers in Canada can be expensive. The parents of the students repeatedly tried to contact the agency in Jalandhar but to no avail.

This recent incident is a clear reminder that, as a student, you should only approach licensed immigration law firms. Canada-approved immigration lawyers are the right people to handle your visa application process in a foolproof and professional way. And remember, no study abroad services in India are not licensed for visa processing and getting genuine admission letters from reputed Canadian colleges.
