Student Visas are exclusively issued to applicants whose prime purpose of visit to the country is the pursuit of education. Student Visa can be normally classified based on Program duration and type of program. When you take the first instance, the countries normally put the student visa in two categories – short term and long term. Short-Term Visas are provided for students who take a short-term or diploma/certificate course, in which the entire program is limited to 3 months (9 months). While in long-term visas, are provided for students who take up course extending beyond 3 month period. However, some countries distinguish the student visas on the basis of the type of student. It could be the level of degree applied for Undergraduate, graduate or doctoral programs, exchange students or applicants for a diploma or vocational courses.
