Canada will need more immigrants after the Pandemic

Canada has been thankful for the wholehearted effort by the migrants in making the country great. Although the COVID-19 Pandemic has impeded the influx of immigrants, the country intensely requires migrants to support the growth plans.

The importance of emigrants was also evident in the statement made by Canadian immigration minister Marco Mendicino. He had said that immigrants are inevitable to keep the country moving forward and will need more immigrants in the post-pandemic period. He has also highlighted the role of migrant personnel in fighting the Pandemic. The statement from the minister is of paramount importance.

It indicates that, albeit the travel restrictions imposed after the Pandemic, the Liberal government in Canada is determined to go ahead with the plans it had released in March 2020. The number of immigrants Canada plans to issue a permanent visa in 2020 is 3, 41,000. Further, it intends to raise the number of issuances of permanent visas by 10000 each in 2021 and 2022.

The Childbirth rate in Canada is one of the lowest in the world. This has been the reason for the reduced availability of the workforce in the country. Hence, the requirement of immigrants is expected to continue for an extended period. Those with professional qualifications can opt for migrating to Canada, with attractive salary and benefits.

Students can consider universities/ colleges in Canada for higher studies. They can join elite firms and settle down in the country subsequently. The hassle-free immigrant laws are supportive in obtaining a permanent visa without any trouble.

The COVID-19 Pandemic is considered a natural correction. Economists predict the quick revival of the economy of Canada and almost all the countries around the world. Therefore, the concerns regarding the financial conditions of Canada could be kept at bay. The central aspect to note here is Canada’s reaction to the 2008 recession. The country had continued accepting immigrants during the financial crisis period too.

The decision had been productive. Canada had been growing at a constant rate until the period before COVID-19. Hence, the resurrection of the economy is anticipated shortly. The country awaits immigrants to support development.
